Brighton Open Market

Market opening set for June 2014

The finishing touches are being added to the brand new Open Market which Brighton Open Market CIC is now due to launch in June 2014. The redevelopment will breathe a new lease of life into Brighton’s historic Open Market quarter.

The new market canopy is currently in the process of being completed and paving of the market square is underway – all in readiness for the 45 new permanent traders and dozens of temporary traders who will take up occupancy in 2014.

Joanne Harris, Project Manager for The Hyde Group, overseeing the development said “We are really excited about the prospect of the new market opening in May and cannot wait for Brighton Open Market CIC to throw open the doors and welcome in the local community to what promises to be a vibrant and thriving new market space”.

Further updates on the market will be added to this site. You can also follow @brightonopenmkt on Twitter.

Can the report in the Argus really be true that there will be no public toilets in the new market? If so, this leaves the whole of London road without such facilities.

      Hi Ian,

I’m afraid that The Argus was misinformed. The market’s toilets will be available for the public to use.

Hope to see you there soon!

Do you have any shop spaces available. We are a family run business already established in London and now looking to expand into East Sussex, Brighton. Heap’s Sausage Cafe, please take a look at our website.

We are in the final stages of completing on the site – hopefully we will have keys in hand by next week and then our lovely new tenants can start moving into their new spaces. An official Launch will happen once everyone is all moved in and the market is properly up and running! Watch this space…
